Our Client is seeking a diligent and organized Parts Assistant to join their team. The Parts Assistant will be responsible for supporting the parts department in inventory management, ordering, receiving, and distributing parts for heavy vehicles. The ideal candidate will possess strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and a proactive attitude.
Responsibilities:
- Inventory Management:Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records of all parts and supplies.
Monitor stock levels and reorder parts as needed to ensure adequate supply.
Conduct regular inventory audits to identify discrepancies and reconcile records.
- Order Processing:Receive and process orders for parts from internal departments and external vendors.
Verify accuracy of orders received and match them with purchase orders.
Coordinate with vendors to track shipments and resolve any delivery issues.
- Parts Distribution:Prepare parts for distribution to technicians, ensuring timely availability of required parts.
Maintain organized storage areas and ensure proper labeling of parts for easy identification.
Assist technicians in locating and retrieving parts as needed.
- Documentation:Keep detailed records of all parts transactions, including receipts, invoices, and stock adjustments.
Generate reports on parts usage, inventory levels, and purchasing activities as required.
- Customer Service:Provide assistance to internal departments and external customers in locating and ordering parts.
Address inquiries and resolve issues related to parts availability, pricing, and delivery.
- Assistance in Other Duties:Assist in other duties within the parts department as directed by the Parts Manager.
Participate in special projects or initiatives to improve parts management processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a parts-related role in automotive industry preferred.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and procedures.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Proficiency in basic computer applications, including MS Office suite.
- Ability to lift and move heavy parts as needed.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
