Our client is seeking an experienced Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and effective maintenance of our fleet of heavy vehicles. This includes diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues, conducting routine maintenance, and ensuring all vehicles meet safety and regulatory standards.
Responsibilities:
- Diagnosis and Repairs:Identify and troubleshoot mechanical issues in heavy vehicles, including but not limited to engines, transmissions, brakes, and electrical systems.
Perform necessary repairs in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring vehicles are brought back to operational status.
- Routine Maintenance:Conduct scheduled maintenance tasks on heavy vehicles, such as oil changes, brake inspections, and tire rotations.
Keep detailed records of all maintenance activities and report any potential issues to the Maintenance Supervisor.
- Safety Compliance:Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to safety standards and regulations.
Conduct thorough inspections of vehicles to identify and address safety concerns.
- Parts and Inventory Management:Maintain an organized inventory of spare parts and tools.
Order and replenish parts as needed, ensuring that the workshop is well-equipped for all maintenance tasks.
- Collaboration:Coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor to prioritize tasks and ensure the efficient use of resources.
Communicate effectively with other team members and departments to address maintenance needs promptly.
- Documentation:Complete detailed reports on each maintenance task, including parts used, time spent, and any additional recommendations.
Keep accurate records of vehicle maintenance histories.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Vehicle Maintenance Technician.
- Certification or diploma in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or a related field.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with a variety of heavy vehicles, including trucks, buses, and specialized equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and procedures.
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift heavy equipment and parts.
- Comfortable working in various weather conditions.
- Ability to stand, stoop, bend, and kneel for extended periods.
