- Establishment of sectional organization in order to provide for efficient operation.
- Overall supervision of the administrative and technical affairs of the Section.
- Schedule of Civil activities and plan required resource for proposal purpose and execution of awarded projects
- Assessment of section staffing needs and recruiting, interviewing, reassignment of personnel and coordination with Human Resources Department.
- Provide direct management to project teams to ensure that the Civil and Structural engineering section is integrated with all other Engineering Sections and that the section deliverables are integrated to meet Procurement and Construction requirements and schedules.
- Understand company policy, project execution procedures, and ensure that these policies and project procedures are implemented thoroughly on each and every project.
- Be responsible for developing, monitoring and reporting of C&S budgets across all projects
- Be responsible for assisting Project Engineering Manager or GM in client liaison. This includes contract management, cost and schedule management, and change order management.
- Be responsible for overall project execution across the Structural discipline to ensure that our scope of services are clearly identified and understood by your section project staff and client project team members.
- Planning and designing of Civil and Structural works including Steel structure, Pipe rack and platform, RC tanks and equipment foundation, facility building, utility & drainage structures and any other structures included in the project.
- Review and verify all Civil and Structural related engineering works compliant to requirement and designed in an optimized manner.
- Leading a team of engineers in facilitating overall project C&S design coordination, submitting Request for information/Approval and resolving onsite daily technical issues. Planning and handling of C&S engineering works with outsourcing parties when there’s a need.
- Lead and/or participate in technical discussions with relevant parties such as clients, QPS, subcontractors and construction team
- Review and check civil/structural engineering deliverables such as concrete and steel drawings, 3-D models, calculations, specifications and material requisitions submitted by consultant.
- Reviewing subcontractor’s shop drawing, risk assessment, safe work procedures and method statements
- Ensure that document control and site records are properly updated in compliance to project quality plan. Establishing and maintaining standards and techniques for design and detailing work and specifications
- Reviews weekly timesheets for accuracy and conformance to company policy and approve all expense travel submittals.
- Review new project bid documents and provide critical C&S engineering inputs to Proposal department
- Assist Business Development on specific proposals and presentations when so requested.
Job Requirement:
- Occasional Travel to other Salcon project offices and project offices.
- Good practical experience in the analysis and design of concrete and steel structures and coordination of multi-discipline design.
- Thorough knowledge and experience with international standards like EC, ASCE codes and Singapore Local standards.
- Good practical understanding of C&S related software’s like Plant3D, Revit, Naviswork, StaadPro, Etabs, Prokon etc.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 15 year experience.
