Responsibilities:
- To perform both WSHO cum ECO Role
- Monitoring and verifying that the Environmental Management Plan (EMP) is adhered to at all times and taking action if the specifications are not followed.
- Keeping records of all activities/incidents concerning the environment on site and issuing of spot fines for transgression of activities identified in the EMP.
- To assist in implementing and reviewing such measures or safe work procedures to prevent workplace accidents.
- To investigate any incidents/accidents and advise on the remedial measures to be taken to prevent any recurrence.
- To work closely with the relevant authorities on safety, health and environmental matters
- To administer and implement an effective Environmental, Health and Safety Management System (EHSMS) in accordance with prevailing legislation and preparation for third-party external EHS audits.
- Conduct Environmental, Health and Safety Audits as per requirements.
- Work closely with different teams to implement and maintain a strong safety regime on site.
- Conduct toolbox meeting and ensure the permit to work system in place.
- Report and liaise closely with Project Manager on workplace safety, health and environmental issues to maintain a high level of safety at the sites.
- Ability to lead and advise on safety programs.
- Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance, and mentoring to employees on initiatives and necessary changes.
- Review and maintain site WSH records.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements:
- Possess a valid registration with MOM as Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) and registered with NEA as a ECO.
- Possess at least a Specialist Diploma in WSH and/or Bachelor’s Degree in Workplace safety and health (WSH)
- Attended Risk Management Training Course
- Experience in local construction projects (building) would be added advantage
- Min 8 years of relevant experience as a WSHO / ECO
- Able to communicate with people of all levels
