Job Description
The laboratory Technologist is required to provide technical, research and admin support for the laboratory activities undertaken in the existing and new geotechnical centrifuge laboratories.
He/she also needs to provide and support the laboratory sessions conducted for the undergraduate soil mechanics modules in the geotechnical soil laboratory.
• Be responsible for the general operations of the existing and new geotechnical centrifuge facilities.
• To assists and support research activities, operations and maintenance of geotechnical centrifuge laboratory facilities (both the existing and the new).
• Assist to coordinates and liaise with vendors for operation and maintenance of centrifuge machines.
• The staff assists in the development and commissioning of the new NUS geotechnical centrifuge laboratory
• The staff assists to prepare the soil/clay samples for use in the undergraduate soil laboratory sessions.
• The staff assists in maintaining the laboratory fixed assets and conducting annual auditing.
• Other ad-hoc duties assigned by the department
Job Requirements
• At least a recognised Polytechnic Diploma in Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• Preferably 2 years of relevant experience
• Possess good knowledge of laboratory safety.
• Open to fixed term contract.
• This is a non-executive position.
