Castlery is looking for a Category Manager to join our eCommerce Platforms (Mopio) team.


The Category Manager sits within the wider merchandising department and is responsible for contributing to the overall strategic direction and pricing for Castlery’s assortment. This role is critical in driving our category strategy, optimizing assortment, and maximizing sales and profitability. They are deeply involved in kick-starting the product development cycle and implementing initiatives that drive business growth.


As key owners of product knowledge, they will also support multiple cross-functional teams within the company to bridge the technical and emotional aspects of each product launch. This role is a dynamic combination of creativity and analytics that strives towards creating a productive and cohesive product assortment for our customers.


What you’ll be doing


  • Curate and implement appealing category strategies whilst encompassing a holistic approach covering strategic demand planning and supply-side dynamics;
  • Set the revenue management strategy, with consistent pricing and promotion tactics which support long term profitable growth across markets;
  • Monitor external market developments and competitive activities as key inputs to Castlery’s category strategy;
  • Be the key stakeholder in making sure forecasts are in line with activities such as category product launches, campaigns, and any other demand drivers;
  • Ensure reporting and analytics translates into actionable insights to drive business, as well as flag risks, making sure we have the most attractive mix of products.
  • Attract, lead, inspire and develop employees, ensuring business continuity and talent growth within the category management function.


What you’ll need

  • At least 5 years of category management experience, preferably with a strong familiarity of the buying process as well. Experience in defining category strategies, whilst still maintaining hands-on approach to working with stakeholders. Furniture industry knowledge is a plus.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  • Ability to work independently in a highly ambiguous, dynamic growth environment, with strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills.
  • Pro-active, ‘can do’ mentality combined with a track record of successful execution of strategies and activities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and build relationships with vendors.
  • Results-oriented mindset with a proven track record of achieving sales and profitability targets.
  • Strong leadership abilities with experience in managing and developing teams.
