AR Accountant

  • Knowledge of revenue recognition and deferred revenue (or unearned Income) and the accounting treatment. Provide direction on revenue accounting guidance to business partners for specific deals as well for new products and services.
  • Provide key support in all aspects of the AR function (From Sales Order/Deals to Cash collection). Responsible for all daily AR operations and month-end closing of AR accounting functions for the Singapore entity.
  • Responsible for all AR collections, follow-up of overdue customer payments, preparation of useful AR metrics on AR aging and collections and bad debt provision.
  • Work with stakeholders to ensure that all deals/projects are duly closed within a reasonable timeframe.
  • Preparation of financials for the annual statutory audit and assist with the audit management.
  • Preparation of Sales Commission computation, Commissions claw-back, Commissions accruals.
  • Preparation of Balance Sheet schedules.
  • Support the annual budgeting exercise, forecasting (if applicable). Participate and contribute in the Microsoft Dynamics system migration (AR module) with the User Acceptance Testing (UAT) process.
  • Ensure compliance with financial process, systems, policies and internal control processes.
  • Collaborate within the finance team and other business stakeholders to streamline system and process workflows more efficiently.
  • Liaise with external auditor, tax agents and bankers as to support audit, tax and other statutory requirements.
  • Any other adhoc matters


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting (preferred but not mandatory). Approximately 5 years (2-3 years audit and 1 commercial role), Experience in SaaS industry will be highly considered
  • Strong accounting background and understanding of IFRS, audit experience will be preferred
  • Experience in cross-border tax issues (transfer pricing, permanent establishment) and systems migration will be advantageous
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel advanced functions (ie.Pivot Table, VLookup).
  • Commercial and business acumen. Negotiation skill and ability to develop strong working relationships.
  • Good strong communication – both written and verbal
  • Committed, responsible, ability to perform under time pressure, meticulous, strong organizational skills with a hands-on mentality and analytical mind
  • Team player with an ability to function effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced and multi-cultural environment and work well with the team to meet tight reporting timeline
