About the role
We are looking for a Specialist, Commodity Derivatives Operations for our continued expansion into Commodity Derivatives Trading. This role is a great opportunity to engage and work with multiple stakeholders and participate in developing the pathway towards increased activities in the trading space for Rio Tinto Commercial.
Reporting to the Manager Commodity Derivatives Operations, you will:
- Support is needed for onboarding brokers, customers, and parties and communicating in Chinese.
- Support to the GCBO and CNR executing the operations in Delhi.
- Back up for Commodity Manager for approvals for margin calls, confirmations, and trade transactions.
- Support with position management and monitoring of Exchange limits.
- Project development for automation of processes.
- Creating and documenting SOPs.
- Support on regulatory updates.
- Support new businesses are Integrated Trading grows be hands-on with generating ideas and solutions and be responsible for coordinating stakeholders.
- Support Front, Middle, and Back offices and promote learning and business engagements and engaging activities with Risk, Legal, Credit, Controllership, Finance, Digital, and Physical commodity teams.
- Support the GCBO team remotely and be a key coordinator for daily operational processes and issues with minimal guidance.
About you
To be successfully considered for this role, you will have:
- University degree qualifications.
- 5+ years of experience in Commodity Derivatives Trading Operations Strong numeric, analytical, and negotiation skills.
- Understanding of financial and commodity markets and risks.
- Experience in managing relationships with clearing banks in the commodity derivatives space.
- Problem solver and solution-finding for workarounds, issues, and new business.
- Self-initiative and knowledge to help generate and create processes.
- Adaptable and use transferable skills to daily tasks, products, and new ideas to grow the business
