General Description
Our client, a top provider of primary and secondary test equipment for electric power systems, is seeking a Sales and Application Engineer. This position will focus on facilitating technical sales and offering technical assistance for products and their applications to customers across Asia. The role is based in the their Service Center in Singapore and will report to the Country Manager.
Your responsibilities
- This role entails driving sales and expanding the business for our client's solutions across South East Asia, with a strong emphasis on Singapore and Brunei.
- The candidate will provide technical support and application guidance for our solutions across a variety of power system applications, including protection relays, power transformers, instrument transformers, switchgear, rotating machines, and ancillary equipment.
- The individual will contribute ideas from service experiences with customers to enhance our products and foster innovative solutions, translating market needs into technical specifications. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Marketing Communication team in promoting the company's products through contributions to advertising and literature.
- Key responsibilities include cultivating and expanding relationships with current clients and exploring new business prospects. The role will also involve engaging in business development activities, assessing market opportunities, forecasting sales, and tracking customer interactions within the designated region.
- Organizing and executing promotional efforts, such as conferences, user meetings, seminars, local exhibitions, on-site demonstrations, and providing post-sale customer training and services, are also crucial functions of this position. The candidate will offer recommendations for new products, services, market opportunities, and process enhancements.
- Collaborating with Sales and Application Engineers, as well as Regional Application Engineers, is essential to stay informed about industry trends, product feedback, market dynamics, and customer perceptions of the company’s offerings.
- Maintaining accurate and current information in the corporate Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database, including new contacts, discussion topics, and opportunities, is a key duty to ensure data integrity and usefulness.
Your profile
- 5 to 8 years of relevant working experience
- You have good knowledge of power system substations, generation, transmission and distribution of electric power
- Having knowledge of protection, automation and control systems and experiences with electrical diagnostic tests of high voltage apparatus would be added advantages
- Experience in sales and/ or dealing with customers
- Your proficiency in English is outstanding; additional language skills would be advantageous.

- You are flexible, and would enjoy travelling to other countries (up to 50% travelling)
Education
· You have a Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Electrical engineering or relevant experience (preferably in power systems and high voltage apparatus)
