Job Summary
The genomics lab is looking for a (Senior) Research Officer to support spatial genomics service, such as STOmics. The ideal candidate would be experienced in various techniques involved in STOmics workflows, and have a passion for troubleshooting, process improvement and training in a service lab.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform entire STOmics workflow from cryosectioning of tissues and deliver high quality results.
- Optimize new protocols for new sample types and troubleshoot for problematic results.
- Perform sample QC, prepare sequencing libraries, and perform high throughput sequencing.
- Write and update SOP and training documents. Ensure proper documentation of all processes.
- Interact with bioinformaticians and evaluate bioinformatics output.
- Maintain lab equipment & documentation in accordance with quality requirements.
- Supervise and train junior staff.
- Other ad-hoc projects as required.
- May need to perform shift duties as required.
Desired Skills and Competencies
- Degree in Life Sciences or a related field with minimal 2 years of related working experience.
- Meticulous attention to detail is the key
- Hand-on experience with cryosectioning of various tissues is highly desirable.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Have a positive, proactive, can-do attitude.
- Keen to learn and good team player.
- Comfortable with shift work is a plus.
