Learning, Teaching, and Assessment
- Provide effective support to the School in teaching, including development and maintenance of academic standards.
- Plan, prepare and deliver lessons and set assessment and learning activities to a range of classes (lecturers/tutorials/asynchronous) and age groups of students (including overseas colleges, if required).
- Administer the setting and marking of coursework and examination.
- Review and ensure the quality of examination papers under area(s) of specialisation.
- Manage the moderation of coursework and examination results.
- Conduct objective assessments on examination appeal cases.
- Monitor student progress through the application of formative and summative assessment strategies that support appropriate feedback and skills development.
- Monitor student success rates to an agreed standard across all student levels.
- Conduct objective assessments on examination appeal cases.
- Conduct administration duties pertinent to the programmes of study in the School.
- Engage in student development by providing strong learning support and monitoring of students’ academic performances.
Programme Management & Curriculum/ Partnership Development
- Periodically review and develop programmes pertinent to the School to ensure continued relevance and quality improvement of curricula.
- Evaluate and recommend appropriate teaching materials to cover the learning outcomes of the different programmes of study.
- Develop online learning strategies with a duality of pedagogical functions (online learning, Blended learning).
- Support Assistant Director (Academic) in exploring new programmes to grow the School.
- Support Assistant Director (Academic) in academic partnerships and courses.
- Coordinate and prepare information for inspection and quality assurance assessments.
- Undertake knowledge exchange and other scholarly activity to contribute to the development of new areas in the relevant subject field.
- Lead as Module Leader/Programme Leader and monitor and assess performance of Associate Lecturers.
- Advise students with respect to academic performance, career opportunities, and pursuit of advanced studies.
- Ensure that programme design and delivery is consistent with the academic framework and quality standards and regulations of PSB Academy.
Research & Knowledge Exchange
- Expected to have knowledge and understanding of e-learning platforms such as Blackboard etc.
- Represent the School in selected academic committee, where necessary.
Others
- Represent and participate in marketing events for the School.
- Perform other duties/projects as assigned by the Assistant Director (Academic) / Director.
Job Requirements
- Minimum Degree (at least a pass at GCE ‘O’ level or its equivalent in the language medium of the programme/module.)
- More than 1 year of experience in teaching Business Modules.
- Teaching experience preferred.
- Experience or knowledge of module and/or programme leadership, development and administration within a higher education environment.
- Evidence of engagement in professional practice and the ability to design, deliver and assess a range of modules in and related to specialist areas of professional practice.
- Enthusiasm in working in an interdisciplinary context.
- Evidence of commitment to continuing professional development.
- Experience in working with digital technology including an interest in emerging technology and techniques and maintaining an active interest in related developments within the sector.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Good people skills and ability to handle difficult situations, lead and motivate people.
- Ability to work as part of a wider team involving senior managers.
- Forward and outlooking approach to the profession.
- An understanding of the changing landscape within the education sector nationally and internationally.
