Job Responsibilities:
· Gain a comprehensive understanding of the shipping industry, with a focus on operations.
· Assist in coordinating vessel schedules, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
· Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including vessel owners, charterers, port authorities, and agents.
· Learn and adhere to industry regulations and compliance standards.
· Collaborate with team members to resolve operational issues efficiently.
· Monitor and track vessel movements and cargo handling processes.
· Participate in on-the-job training sessions to develop practical skills and knowledge.
· Take initiative to streamline processes and improve operational efficiency.
· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisors.
Education, Experience and Skills
· High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
· No prior academic background in shipping necessary; willingness to learn and work hard.
· Strong work ethic and ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
· Attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
· Proficiency in basic computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office).
· Willingness to commit to at least 1 year in the operations department before considering other career paths.
