Kukoh+ is a child and youth development facility under Yong-en Care Centre that is dedicated to addressing the social-emotional and mental wellness gaps caused by severe economic inequalities. The centre provides a youth drop-in service most afternoons of the week. In collaboration with volunteer specialists, the programme is moving towards the provision of trauma-informed care using art, music, drama/theatre, as well as other sports based interests as facilitators of emotional expression and psychological healing.
We are seeking candidates with relevant experience, who are passionate, creative, empathetic, and youth-focused. Qualifications and experience in the field of Psychology, Social Work, and/or the use of a creative discipline for psychological goals, would be a considerable advantage.
Job Responsibilities
- Undertake basic admissions procedures based on pre-established intake criteria.
- Develop programme and implement sessions under supervision.
- Track and compile programme data.
- Orientate and train volunteers to support in the administration of the programme.
- Coordinate with external organisations and stakeholders to optimize resources.
- Evaluate the needs of youth and collaborate with colleagues and supervisors to address service gaps.
- Attend to public enquiries.
- Maintain proper records and support in the preparation of scheduled reports.
- Undertake any other projects or duties assigned .
Job Requirements
- A Diploma or Degree in Psychology, Social Work, or a related creative field with a focus on psychological goals, with at least 3 years of relevant experience working with youths and families.
- Able to take on a systemic lens and adopt system perspective to engage the needy in the community.
- Creative, resourceful, proactive, responsible, client-centric, with strong problem-solving skills.
- Able to exercise cultural sensitivity to administer job functions in a secular setting.
- Honest, resilient, teachable, and passionate about working with individuals and their families.
- Strong team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Able to converse in English, and or Mandarin/Malay (to handle queries and concerns from English, Mandarin or Malay-speaking beneficiaries).
- Proficiency in MS Office to generate report and basic presentations.
- Committed to safeguarding client’s confidentiality in accordance with PDPA regulations.
- Willing to accommodate a schedule that includes evenings and Saturdays (half-day).
