Responsibilities:
Energy Analysis and reporting
In assessing the energy market, the interrelated nature of supply and demand per energy carrier (oil, gas, coal, renewable) will be taken into consideration. Furthermore factors related to politics (emission regulations, CCS etc.) and specific economic and sectoral developments (ie. Global trade and bunker demand etc,) have a direct impact across and directly on individual energy carriers. Given Vopak’s activities in the multiple energy segments, the analyst will take an integrated approach to ensure there are no inconsistencies in our assessments.
Market Analysis
- Overall demand and sectoral demand like power, transport (road, marine) and the impact of new technologies like Hydrogen, Ammonia, CO2 etc
- Overall supply, and by energy sources such as Oil, Gas, Renewable, Coal etc.
- Split of supply and demand per country and country areas
- Supply and demand balances and trade flows
- Scenario analysis and interrelations between energy sources and carriers
Oil Projects Support with focus on Fuel Distribution Terminals (25%-50% time)
- Support existing terminals for projects and market analysis
- Support greenfield projects
- Support M&A projects
- Support Strategy formulation
Requirements:
- Master degree with at least 3-5 years of working experience within Vopak or related industry
- Affinity with the energy market and the developments around the energy transition
- Interest in developing capabilities on financial and data modeling
- Analytical ability to research markets and to translate learnings into strategy/ action
- Self-starter, independent, strategic thinker, innovator
- Strong reading, writing and speaking skills in English
- Cultural sensibility to interact on an international level both internally and externally
