Purpose of the Role
As part of the System Integration (SI) Team of a multi-million railway turnkey project the SI Engineer will be instrumental in the successful delivery of a complete upgraded Automated People Mover (APM) system. During the design phase of a railway turnkey project, several interfaces are defined, and information are shared between different subsystems and suppliers according to project requirements and milestones. During the testing and commissioning phase, the interfaces require to be validated while meeting the end Customer’s requirements. The System Integration engineer role is, but not limited to, produce test report, manage configuration, change review board, update ICDs/ System level documentation, lead system integration test and change review board.
Responsibilities
- To define and allocate requirements, analyses technical risks, defines interfaces.
- Keep close coordination with the verification and validation, and testing activities with the project teams and participate in the testing and communication activities as required.
- Lead the integration and validation of the internal and external interfaces between subsystems
- Write test procedure required to demonstrate the functionalities at system level
- Provides all the necessary support to the System Integration Manager
- Assure preparation of technical documentation for discussions with customer and suppliers
- Assist and assure design solutions, preparation/execution of various Design Reviews (internal & external) in accordance to the Alstom Engineering Processes
- Lead System Integration Testing
Qualifications
- Engineering Degree with 7 years experience in Electrical, Electronic, Systems Engineering, or other relevant degree or background.
- Proven knowledge in power supply, distribution for railway system. Wayside and Vehicles interfaces/integration is a must.
- Knowledge in other railway system such as Signalling, Communication, SCADA , and rolling stock is an added advantage
- Knowledge on network topologies and interfaces for serial, ethernet, TCP/IP protocol, etc is a must
- Knowledge in development or integration of CBTC Systems
- Knowledge in Rolling Stock Architecture and Interfaces
- Detailed knowledge of in MS Office.
- Knowledge in DOORS, Design tools (Visio, AutoCAD, etc) is a plus
- Very good knowledge in English is required
