Job Summary

Based in Singapore, the PR Communications Strategist is responsible for planning, developing and implementing public relations strategies on a global level across key and potential markets. The position is also responsible for directing the efforts of PR agencies and coordinating at the strategic and tactical levels with the other departments of the brand’s regional offices.


Primary Relationships

This position reports directly to the Head of Communications.

Within the organization, this position will also work with the PR & Content, Marketing, Digital and CRM teams and will also have working relationships with the Design and Operations teams, the Tea Institute, as well as staff with similar positions within partner and franchise organisations. Outside the organization, the position has secondary working relationships with PR agencies, digital agencies, advertising agencies, etc.


Job Descriptions

  • Responsible for pro-active media pitching and securing media coverages in a variety of top-tier global media publications.
  • Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive global PR strategy that will enhance the brand’s luxury image and international positioning across key and potential markets globally.
  • Developing and directing the creation of press releases, media alerts and PR pitches on a global level.
  • Acting as TWG Tea’s brand representative with international media and influencers, ensuring implementation of brand and editorial guidelines and directives.
  • Demonstrated track record of developing successful working relationships with international media publications, journalists and press contacts.
  • Engaging with target top-tier international media publications and key opinion leaders on media requests, photoshoots and giftings.
  • Monitoring and reporting of press and social media coverages, global trends and informing the team of developments in luxury, retail and F&B industries.
  • Managing any global PR crises in collaboration with PR teams and agencies.
  • Ensuring the proper archives of global media clippings and regularly updating PR reporting standards.
  • Overseeing the maintenance of TWG Tea global media databases and periodically revising and refreshing media outreach to constantly remain current.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in communications, public relations and influencer marketing with demonstrated success on a global level, preferably in the luxury retail sector.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications and public relations preferred.
  • Past experience working in an international PR agency or luxury brand is preferred.
  • Applicants must be fluent in written and spoken English.

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge and experience in the design and execution of luxury marketing, communications and public relations activities.
  • Strong creative, strategic, analytical, organizational and personal skills.
  • Demonstrated successful experience writing press releases, making presentations and negotiating with international media.
  • Computer literacy in word processing, data base management and page layout.
  • Commitment to working in cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at a time with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Out-of-town, overnight travel to Singapore or within the region might be required from time to time (less than 5%).
