Overall Purpose of Role
Seatronics is responsible for carrying out the supply, installation and servicing of a wide range of marine electronics. As Logistics Assistant, you will support the Operations Manager to manage the logistics of the rental and sales pools ensuring the accurate control of goods in/out, stock, asset control, rental equipment and to ensure these are transported accordingly. By liaising with external agencies and internal departments, you will ensure that the import and export needs of the Seatronics division are met and that Company procedures are followed. You will be responsible for overseeing that all paperwork is kept to ISO 9001 and compliance standards.
Relationships: Reports to Operations Manager, liaises with all staff, clients and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the postholder will include but not be limited to the following:
Logistics
· Arranging collections for items to be dispatched, including international freight.
· To liaise with the various freight forwarders delivery in the required timeframe.
· For shipments with Controlled Goods ensure the export compliance procedure has been followed and liaise with Operations Manager should any additional details be required from the client prior to arranging shipping.
· Track the air/sea shipments through to final delivery.
· Negotiate the best service and price from suppliers and achieve maximum cost reduction to produce margin improvements.
· Ensure that all shipments are undertaken in line with customer expectations in terms of standard service, costs and time frames.
· Attend all monthly/quarterly operations review meetings with assigned customers.
· Work with colleagues to ensure the stock system is updated and the team is made aware of any missing/damaged items equipment return.
· Processing hire/sales orders on InspHire stock system.
· Raise purchase orders and x-hire purchase orders.
Goods Inwards Sales/Stock
· To receive in all goods delivered to the company.
· Entering of all goods received to the stock system and correlating the items received to the purchase order to ensure our order requirements are fulfilled.
· Support the team by reporting items with damages and manufacturing defects.
· Discuss any non conformances with the Operations Manager so that they can be reported to the supplier.
Goods Out
· To assist the team to accurately pick stock items in accordance with the outgoing paperwork ensuring conformance to the customer’s requirements.
· To assist the team to adequately package all orders for safe delivery to the customer.
Experience and Qualifications
· Diploma level qualification, ideally in engineering is desirable
· Minimum of one year experience of logistics in a global business is desirable
· Experience in freight/shipping/import-export documentation
· Experience of effectively organising and prioritising workload to meet deadlines
· Experience of using Word, Excel and Outlook in the workplace to carry out a variety of tasks
· Experience of working effectively without close supervision
· Experience, supported by a good understanding of Seatronics administration and related computer systems
· Experience of Database Administration
· Experience in understanding and interpreting user requirements.
· Experience of Pcb investigation, soldering, crimping, mechanical assembly
