Overall Purpose of Role
As Engineering Supervisor, you will be responsible for ensuring engineering staff carry this out in a timely and organized manner with particular attention to maintaining the high QA standards already in place. You will also assist the UK Engineering Manager with the review and development of workshop testing and procedures and assume responsibility on occasion for the daily management of workshop including calibration.
Relationships:Reports directly to the UK Engineering Manager. Supervises Engineering staff and liaises with the General Manager, Engineering Director, global staff, clients and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
The responsibilities of the postholder will include but not be limited to the following:
· Delegate daily tasks to engineering staff in relation to upcoming projects
· Manufacture of in house and client requested cable drawings
· Provide remote technical support for all assets held within the Seatronics rental pool.
· Provide technical and occasionally practical assistance in the Calibration Lab
· Creating and forwarding of Purchase orders to suppliers
· Be the point of liaison between suppliers manufacturer’s and customers
· Arranging the shipping of equipment to customers and manufacturers
· Carry out electronic testing / fault finding and system testing
· Carry out electronic repairs including minor pcb work and cable re-terminations
· Carry out final physical QA checks on equipment post hire/pre hire.
· Carry out QA sign-off of equipment check sheets pre/post hire.
· Carry out final QA checks of equipment picking lists prior to passing to admin staff
· Carry out final QA checks of all in house calibration certificates
· Provide occasional remote based equipment support to customers.
· Perform Health and Safety toolbox talks
Willingness to undertake other duties as and when required such as stock take, maintaining tidy work areas, copying, filing, workshop development etc
Experience and Qualifications
Desirable experience and qualifications are as follows:
· HNC / HND or equivalent in a relevant area; Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Engineering Systems
· Basic experience of Pcb investigation, soldering, crimping, mechanical assembly
· Solid experience of Microsoft Office suite; Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and InspHire in house stock system
· Good experience of testing/operating equipment in Seatronics rental pool
· Experience of supervising teams
