The Food Spots Manager holds responsibility for overseeing the overall service and operational experience. They inspire, train, nurture, and guide team members to consistently deliver exceptional service and achieve daily objectives. This role encompasses the supervision of daily administrative and operational functions, such as financial management, analysis, sanitation, and safety protocols. The Food Spots Manager also plays a pivotal role in motivating, training, developing, and guiding all MK Assistant Managers to ensure the operation meets its goals and offers outstanding service to our users.

The primary focus of the Food Spot Manager is on elevating hospitality and the MK experience within the client’s Food program, thus contributing to operational excellence across locations in Singapore.

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Head of Operations, this role capitalizes on its robust hospitality and operational expertise to collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including culinary experts, nutrition specialists, marketing teams, behavioral scientists, concept developers, procurement professionals, risk management personnel, and operations staff. This collaborative effort aims to uphold standards, align with the client’s Food program expectations, and enrich the user (partner) experience.


The great things you will be expected to do:

  • Ownership of Food Spots Experience:
    • Design, oversee, and take full ownership of the entire Food Spots Experience, encompassing behavioral science, concept and product development, visual merchandising, and procurement processes.
    • Ensure that the overall MK neighborhood adheres to the standards set by the Management Team.
    • Oversee the daily appearance and maintenance of the MK and coffee bar areas
  • Collaboration with Stakeholders:
    • Foster and maintain strong collaborative relationships with business stakeholders, both locally and regionally
    • Manage vendor relationships comprehensively, from onboarding to compliance and ongoing engagement
  • Innovation & Insights:
    • Research and analyze food and beverage trends, food service innovations, customer engagement strategies, corporate food experiences, and health-related food trends to drive continuous improvement in the Food program experience.
  • Hospitality Expectation:
    • Exhibit a genuine passion for providing excellent hospitality
    • Establish and communicate a friendly and engaging hospitality standard
    • Represent the company professionally and courteously in interactions with customers, our partner, and employees
    • Respond to all comments and complaints within a 24-hour timeframe, addressing them in a friendly and service-oriented manner
  • Supervision and Training:
    • Recruit, train, and supervise Food Spots team members in their respective neighborhoods
    • Conduct staff reviews, coaching sessions, and, if necessary, disciplinary actions
    • Communicate and coordinate any changes with supervisors
  • Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with all hiring and training standards, meticulously documenting the process for direct hires, including new hire documentation, handbook acknowledgment, training completion, and safety training
    • Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.
    • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices.

Key skills & qualifications

EDUCATION & QUALIFICATION

  • College degree or degree in Hospitality, or equivalent professional experience
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Has a minimum of 3 years applicable experience in a like volume and quality food service establishment
  • Food and Services industry essential

COMPETENCIES

  • Has the ability to operate Web based ordering systems, process requests and changes to orders
  • Knowledge of project management related software tools (Asana preferred)
  • Computer literacy with advance abilities in spreadsheets and presentation software tools (Google suites)
  • Presentation skills (all levels including senior management)

  • Extensive understanding of project and program management principles, methods and techniques
