Play a central role in providing nursing care to residents in the nursing home.
1. Comply with approved standards of nursing practices
2. Provide nursing services requiring substantial and specialised nursing skills
3. Work closely with the resident’s doctor and multi-disciplinary team to provide care to the residents; updates on changes in the residents’ condition and needs
4. Ensure care delivery and nursing interventions as outlined in the care plan
5. Evaluate the resident’s response to care interventions and recommends revision of care plans as necessary
6. Work with allied health professionals and/or initiate preventive and rehabilitative nursing procedures
7. Carry out and supervise assessments of all new admissions
h. Prepare clinical documentation and ensure all documentations are current
8. Prepare and administer medications to residents and comply with safe medication practices
9. Supervise staff to ensure safe medication practice
10. Responsible for the safe keeping of control drugs
11. Participate in training and development of staff
12. Work with Supervisor to conduct quality assurance activities to monitor and evaluate the quality and appropriateness of nursing care
13. Deal with emergency that arises and ensure prompt actions to mitigate the situation. Escalate promptly to supervisor, where necessary
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
1. Work with staff to maintain a safe and clean environment in the nursing home
2. Deputize the nurse manager in his/her absence
3. Undertake any other duties as assigned by the Supervisor
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- National ITE Certificate inNursing or its equivalent recognized by Singapore Nursing Board
- At least 2 years’ experience as Enrolled Nurse
PROFESSIONAL LICENCE
- Enrolled with Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified
