Job Description:

As a Logistics Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating all logistical activities within the organization. Your primary goal will be to ensure efficient transportation, storage, and distribution of goods, while minimizing costs and maximizing customer satisfaction. You will lead a team of logistics personnel, manage inventory levels, and implement strategies to optimize supply chain processes. Attention to detail, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly are essential for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and coordinate all logistical activities, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  2. Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain efficiency and minimize costs.
  3. Lead, train, and motivate a team of logistics personnel to achieve departmental goals.
  4. Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment as needed to meet demand.
  5. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies regarding transportation and storage of goods.
  6. Evaluate and select third-party logistics providers and negotiate contracts as necessary.
  7. Analyze data and generate reports to track key performance indicators and identify areas for improvement.
  8. Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and sales, to coordinate logistics activities and support overall business objectives.

Requirements:

  1. Bachelor's degree in business administration, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field. Advanced degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional) preferred.
  2. Proven experience in logistics management, with at least 3-5 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
  3. Strong knowledge of logistics principles, practices, and regulations.
  4. Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
  5. Proficiency in using logistics software and tools for tracking shipments, managing inventory, and analyzing data (e.g., ERP systems, transportation management systems).
  6. Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
  7. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to collaborate across departments and communicate with external stakeholders.
  8. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  9. Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
  10. Knowledge of safety and security procedures related to transportation and warehousing operations.
  11. Willingness to travel occasionally for supplier visits, conferences, or other business-related activities.
