COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Grocery Logistics Singapore (GLS) a wholly owned subsidiary of FairPrice Group Supply Chain, is a well-established logistics player in the Fast Moving Consumers Goods (FMCG) segment, incorporated since January 1993. Other than being the key logistics provider for NTUC FairPrice and its subsidiaries, we had serviced the Dairy Farm Group, Royal Ahold Group (since exited from Singapore Markets) and many small supermarket chains since our establishment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Cold Chain and E-Commerce Operations
- Lead and drive the daily operations at the cold chain and e-commerce distribution centres (DC) to achieve cost, process efficiency, productivity and ensuring that perishable or temperature-sensitive products at the cold chain DC meet the required quality standards.
- Manage the Profit & Loss, budgeting, cost controls and ensuring the operations is on track financially through the development and effective management of the distribution strategies, policies and processes to enhance productivity, optimizing warehouse capacity and minimizing cost.
- Lead and coach the respective operations team to set directions towards effective and efficient management of the Cold Chain and e-Commerce operations and any related changes.
- Ensure that all necessary stock management processes/tools and e-commerce operations setups are in place to ensure no stock is lost in the DC, stock counts are accurate and any variances are fully investigated.
- Plan, organise and direct the respective operation team to assure operational effectiveness, adherence to WSH guidelines and statutory compliances, attain quality certifications and drive a culture of safety across the DCs.
- Continuously review, identify opportunities and drive initiatives to improve operational processes, risk mitigation, enhance quality and to improve the overall productivity of the DCs.
- Achieve cost efficiency through effective business negotiations with third party providers and/or contractors for the contractual rates and services.
- Resolve business issues and challenges with Operations Management, seeking best practices to achieve a solution without adding further complexity to processes or systems operation and escalate to Management team when needed.
- Work alongside with the Director of Operations and collaborate with cross functional teams to drive growth and continuous development of the DCs
- Guide and supervise operations related projects such as warehouse migration, automation implementation, etc.
- Coach, motivate and lead direct reports, provides feedback to enhance/develop skills, knowledge and work performance.
Last Mile Delivery Operations
- Design and implement business strategies, plans and procedures to have seamless logistics operations
- To operate day to day fulfilment, last mile deliveries, and achieve the optimum productivity level and KPIs set for transport operations, including FFS (Fulfilment from Store) operations
- Drive service level improvement in addition to meeting daily and monthly business targets for transport operations, including delivery volumes, delivery schedule and service hours, on-time delivery rates, safety, productivity, and total operating costs.
- Oversee relationship management with our contractors ensuring there is service and quality alignment cross our businesses.
- Manage commercial relationships with key vendors such as truck leasing companies and other service.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across transport operation.
- Manage support functions such as operations administration, claims and customer service.
- Oversee the hiring, training, evaluating and development plan of the transport operations team to ensure a productive and high-performing workforce
- Manage and ensure all vehicle maintenance and repair procedures are properly designed, followed & documented.
- Collaborate with our Tech and innovation team in the design and implementation of innovative technology solutions that will revolutionize home delivery in Singapore
- Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Business or Engineering related field.
- Minimally 8 to 10 years of Logistics/Supply Chain experience in e-commerce and/or cold chain environment.
- Strong knowledge and proven experience in managing e-Commerce and Cold Chain operations and last-mile logistics.
- Excellent understanding and experience in warehouse and product quality management / standards and audits.
- Strong understanding and experience in lean management / six sigma, continuous improvement programs and tools.
- Result oriented, equally comfortable with strategic planning and tactical execution.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across business units and cross-functional teams.
- Possess strong business acumen with demonstrated understanding of the financial aspects of operations and supply chain.
- Past proven achievements in people management and driving cost effectiveness for CAPEX & OPEX.
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and has effective change management skills.
- Prior people management experience with the ability to motivate and develop teams.
