- You will perform a wide variety of diagnostic tests on patient specimens and report results of the tests according to established protocols to help clinicians diagnose, treat diseases, and monitor therapy.
- You will also perform receiving and sorting of specimens, assessing suitability of specimens for testing, data entry of test requests, and rejection of specimens that are unsuitable for testing.
- You will participate in quality assurance and quality control programmes in the Section, assists in phlebotomy for inpatients, assists in providing on-the-bench training for new staff and attachment students, assists in initiatives to review and improve processes within the Section to achieve organisational goals, and supports the Section Leader in operational and administrative matters.
- You will also be expected to perform procedures and tests in the specialist outpatient clinics and inpatient wards.
Requirements
- Preferably Bachelor's Degree and above in Laboratory Medicine, Clinical Haematology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biological Sciences, Biotechnology, Life Sciences, or any other equivalent qualification
- Candidates with Diploma in Biomedical Sciences, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Medical Technology, Biotechnology, Life Sciences or any other equivalent qualification may be considered for the position of Junior Medical Technologist.
- Possesses good organisation, coordination, communication, and computer skills.
