Commercial Finance Manager

Our client is a fast-growing marketplace who are at the stage of scaling their business. They are looking for a driven and meticulous Commercial Finance Manager to join their team for this exciting phase for the company.

This pivotal role centers on delivering business support, particularly in commercial and supply chain finance, along with budgeting and forecasting. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in steering business profitability through astute financial analysis and strategic decision-making.

  • S$9k/ per month base + variable bonus
  • Location in the West
  • Reporting directly to the CFO

Responsibilities


Commercial Finance

  • Analyze channel and category profitability, offering actionable insights on price, volume, and margin decisions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and enhance profitability via promotional strategies.
  • Assess market trends and competitor activities, providing recommendations for sales and marketing strategies.
  • Monitor and report sales performance, identifying avenues for improvement and cost reduction opportunities.
  • Conduct analysis on supply chain costs and efficiency, focusing on inventory, transportation, warehousing, and distribution expenses.
  • Work closely with supply chain and operations teams to pinpoint cost-saving opportunities and drive process enhancements.
  • Prepare feasibility studies for new store openings and evaluate existing site tenancy renewals.

Monthly Reporting, Budgeting, and Forecasting

  • Create monthly management performance reports and business review materials.
  • Foster understanding of business performance by collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Partner with business units to develop annual budgets and quarterly forecasts.
  • Analyze financial performance against budgets and forecasts, providing variance analysis and actionable recommendations.
  • Assist in crafting financial presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Develop financial models and tools to facilitate budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Undertake ad hoc projects including potential business acquisitions.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field. CPA or CFA certification is advantageous.
  • 6-8 years of experience as a Financial Analyst or in a similar role, preferably in commercial finance.
  • Knowledge of the consumer goods industry and experience with budgeting and forecasting is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in financial modeling, data analysis, Excel, and financial software (e.g., PowerBI, SAP).
  • Strong business acumen, analytical prowess, and attention to detail. A curious nature and a passion for adding value are desired.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills to effectively convey complex financial information.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
