1. Job description
- Develop, execute, monitor and evaluate the Home educational programmes in accordance with the Home rules and regulations and ensure programmes are kept abreast with the changing times
- Facilitate enhancements to existing programmes with the aim of improving residents’ educational standards.
- Work closely with the Case Management department concerning residents educational matters.
- Responsible for securing admission for all residents in Mendaki Tuition Programmes
- Ensure residents attend tuition regularly, provide physical supervision in tuition class and to keep track of their attendance.
- Render HBL assistance, prepare worksheets and ensure residents complete their school assignments.
- Collate residents result slips and prepare the progress report accordingly to keep track on their academic progression.
- Work closely with the Head of Programmes in programme planning and implementation.
- Undertake programme development and make recommendations for current and or new programme enhancement.
- Responsible in sourcing of venues and refreshments for workshops, programmes and activities
- Prepare academic proposals and grant applications including budget planning.
- Coordinate with various stakeholders to execute programme, manage communications and manage stakeholders’ feedback.
- Engage volunteers or external stakeholders or contacts in supporting the educational programmes and needs of residents (ie; homework support, special needs tutoring)
- Handle volunteer management matters such as recruiting, training, supervising, and evaluating new and existing volunteers in strengthening and developing the programmes in the Home.
- Administer and maintain annual volunteer satisfaction survey.
- Maintain a good relationship with the volunteers through engagements for feedback and assist when necessary.
- Build and establish working relationships with stakeholder, schools, corporate bodies, government agencies, voluntary organizations and existing partners.
- Ensure that all records, accounts, documents, correspondences and notice boards updates are properly maintained and are kept up to date.
- Assist in ensuring the safety, security and wellbeing of the residents under the Home care.
- Carry out any other relevant tasks as required by the Head of Home, Deputy Head of Home and Higher Management.
2. Job Requirements
- Minimum Diploma/Degree qualification
- At least 2 years of relevant working experience
- Pleasant and outgoing personality, strong written & oral communication skills
- Experience working in non profit organisations and managing events preferred
- Passionate about working with children.
- Able to commit to afternoon shift
