Responsibilities of a Claims Handler includes, but not limited to the following:
Independent handling, investigation and processing of cargo claims from first notice to final settlement.
Efficiently manage a portfolio of cargo claims.
Maintain and update claim files for comprehensive records.
Respond timely to internal and external inquiries for information relative to claims.
Appoint surveyors and decide on appropriate course of action when necessary.
Communicate claim action /processing with claimants, clients and relevant parties.
Providing coverage opinions to Principals.
Identify notification issues, coordinates resolutions and takes corrective actions as needed.
Execute duties in accordance with the company's claim procedures.
Ability to prioritize and handle a high volume of claims with meticulous attention to details, particularly the skills to identify inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data entry or data output.
Requirements:
2-5 years of experience in similar field dealing with Cargo Claims.
Exhibit strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with ability to provide consistent customer service both internally and externally.
Team player, positive attitude and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Salary will commensurate with experience.
