Maersk is looking for a commercial leader to join our team as Head of Supply Chain Development for the Asia Pacific (APA) region. The APA Head of Supply Chain Development is part of Maersk’s Global Supply Chain Development (SCD) team, function within Maersk Sales & Marketing. This role is part of the SCD Leadership Team and reports into the Global Head of SCD.


The ideal candidate will manage and develop the APA Regional Supply Chain Development (SCD) team, which will lead solution sales for Maersk’s Key Clients, by deploying consultative selling skills to identify opportunities, building compelling tailored value propositions, and winning new business.

The role will also contribute to the continued improvement and innovation in the Supply Chain Development team and the larger commercial organization and thereby be recognized globally as a thought leader.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the regional APA Supply Chain Development team to identify, develop and win logistics solutions with Maersk’s top 200 customers using a consultative sales approach.
  • Enable regional APA SCD team to manage their role as member of Key Client account teams.
  • Engage Internal and external (customer) stakeholders to enable strategic relationship building and wins in important commercial opportunities
  • Manage an effective engagement model with other internal stakeholders (regional and area leadership, sales, products, customer experience) in the APA region
  • Enable development of team capabilities, toolkits and culture to setup a scalable model for the future
  • Build a team culture of Thought Leadership, Collaboration & Best practice sharing in own team and Global SCD team
  • Support Global Head of SCD in key priority tasks concerning SCD team

Who we are looking for:

  • 15 years of experience in commercial related roles, and 5 years as a team leader
  • Logistics and Supply chain expertise, with strong knowledge of the APA region and markets
  • High education level / degree / certification in supply chain and logistics
  • Customer-centric approach to growing share of wallet with customers. Ability to run customer workshops and facilitate senior leaders’ engagement to open new avenues for partnership with Maersk
  • Lead with example to foster a culture of team-work, collaboration, finding synergies and show a growth/ learning mindset.
  • Be an active leadership team member to build global team talent, coach and mentor and promote knowledge sharing.
  • Scan internal and external situation to bring a perspective to functional strategy. Be a change ambassador to guide teammates through learning curves with agility
  • Ability to manage stakeholders for purpose alignment, promoting cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong competencies in strategy formulation, financial acumen, presentation skills, and business case development
  • Commercial leadership acumen to guide the team on key levers, leading and lagging indicators and take course corrective actions with agility to achieve growth targets.
  • Comfortable with understanding logistics data and provide insights based on analyzed output
  • Participate or lead special initiatives as agreed within SCD leadership team.
