Job Description
Primary responsibilities and outcomes:
- Plan internal audits, including the creation and distribution of notifications and scopes, and coordinate with auditors to gather information ahead of the primary audit.
- Conduct internal audit fieldwork with a focus on controls related to financial and operational risks.
- Perform internal audits in a collaborative manner, maintaining an open and inquisitive approach.
- Develop audit work programs specific to each internal audit, customising the approach rather than duplicating previous audits.
- Document internal audit work to re-performance standards and maintain sufficient evidence on file for any control weaknesses or audit findings.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure the accuracy and agreement of all findings.
- Work with auditors to establish actions that effectively mitigate identified risks while remaining practical, achievable, and commercially sustainable.
- Draft concise and readable internal audit reports conveying findings and associated risks.
- Follow up on previous findings as necessary.
- Conduct ad hoc investigations or reviews at the request of senior management.
- Assess the appropriate and proportionate level of internal audit activity in the Asia region and provide well-founded recommendations for future delivery methods, such as co-sourcing, contractor utilisation, or permanent employees.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience covering Internal Audit for the APAC region
- Familiar with IA and regulations across China, Hong Kong and other APAC countries
- Comfortable travelling across the APAC region (no projected travels out of Asia)
