Key Responsibilities:
- Handle full sets of accounts, with closing to be done monthly.
- Responsible for compiling monthly, quarterly, annual financial reports and conducting quarterly budget reviews.
- Oversee the entire annual statutory audit procedure, ensuring prompt communication with external auditors to finalise the audit ahead of the Annual General Meeting.
- Manage day-to-day financial operations, overseeing payment cycles to ensure prompt bill payments and fostering positive relationships with stakeholders.
- Conduct financial analyses for different departments and recommend potential areas for improvement.
- Coordinate and prepare documents for procurement and ITQ/ITT submissions.
- Consistently uphold the organisation’s compliance with the Charity Act and Governance Evaluation Checklist.
- Liaison with banks for business transactions, payments, and any bank authorisation matters.
- Review and monitoring of billings and collections.
- Possess familiarity with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) to guarantee alignment of in-house protocols with PDPA guidelines.
- Perform any other duties as assigned by the Executive Director.
Secretariat to Board
- Provide secretariat support in the appointment of Board members.
- Assist in organising Board meetings, Annual General Meetings (“AGM”), Sub-Committee meetings, and Board planning retreats. Records minutes at the various meetings.
- Assist in consolidating department updates for Board meetings.
- Assist in preparing Annual Report and financial statements for the purpose of presentation at Board Meetings.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy.
- At least 3 years in a similar role, experience in a charity is advantageous.
- Ability to work independently with precision, efficiency, and good team player.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and internal control measures.
- Proficient in IT troubleshooting, and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with using Quickbooks and managing full set of accounts would be advantageous.
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and investigative skills.
- Good verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
- Meticulous and driven to complete assigned tasks and projects.
