Job Description:

Procurement:

  1. Source and identify suppliers for direct/indirect materials/services to expand the supplier base and meet new project/production needs.
  2. Obtain quotes from newly sourced suppliers to achieve competitive costing and continuous cost reduction.
  3. Lead periodic price negotiations with suppliers to ensure competitiveness in material/service costs.
  4. Conduct supplier qualification audits and parts qualification to ensure suppliers meet company requirements.
  5. Qualify suppliers for inclusion in the Approved Vendor List.
  6. Conduct regular supplier performance reviews to manage qualifications and updates on suppliers' capabilities.
  7. Maintain standard operating procedures for the Procurement department to ensure consistent workflow processes.
  8. Develop and negotiate favorable supply agreements with suppliers.
  9. Collaborate with other departments and suppliers to establish an appropriate supply chain model for assured supplies with minimal inventory holdings.
  10. Work with departments like Engineering/Warehouse to establish quality standards for supplied items and create the Quality plan.
  11. Supervise and train junior staff to lead the team in accomplishing assigned duties.
  12. Undertake any other task or project assigned by management.

Purchasing:

  1. Develop a Purchasing strategy for various supply categories to ensure on-time order fulfillment with minimal inventory for direct purchases.
  2. Fulfill all indirect purchase needs based on user requirements.
  3. Periodically review the Purchasing strategy with Management and propose changes when market trends shift.
  4. Provide periodic alerts and updates to internal/external customers to promptly address any issues or delays.
  5. Work with principals/suppliers to ensure timely delivery of goods to meet customer/company needs.

Warehousing:

  1. Manage the warehouse team to ensure timely receiving/issuance of raw materials.
  2. Oversee the warehouse team to fulfill order requirements for all customer shipments.
  3. Ensure overall inventory integrity of all goods in the warehouse.

Job Requirements:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • At least 5 years of working experience and exposure in both mechanical and electrical customized parts and components sourcing.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel.
