LawNet Technology Services (LTS) is the technology company behind LawNet, Singapore’s leading portal for legal research, information and transactions. An indispensable tool for the legal community since 1990, LawNet is subscribed by a majority of Singapore lawyers and is also accessible by anyone outside the profession. LTS is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Singapore Academy of Law (SAL), a promotion and development agency for Singapore’s legal industry. In addition to running LawNet, LTS manages the technology driving SAL’s support services for Singapore’s legal industry and statutory functions such as stakeholding services and appointment of Senior Counsel, Commissioners for Oaths and Notaries Public.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Director, Technology Delivery to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our Engineering leadership, you will play a pivotal role in driving the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software applications. You will be responsible for leading and mentoring a team of talented developers, ensuring the timely delivery of projects, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and high-quality code.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a team of developers in the design, development, and deployment of software applications.
- Develop and implement technical strategies and roadmaps aligned with business objectives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., product, business, marketing) to define product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Drive continuous improvement by evaluating and adopting appropriate technologies, frameworks, testing, documentation, tools, and design models.
- Champion a culture of high-quality code through code reviews, test automation, and sharing best practices.
- Mentor and lead the development team, including conducting technical interviews, performance reviews, and developing training plans.
- Manage and prioritize the backlog of development tasks and ensure timely delivery of projects.
- Guide operations, development, and infrastructure teams to resolve support tickets efficiently and plan for relevant enhancements.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and technologies, actively seeking opportunities to improve our development process and product offerings.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, both technical and non-technical.
Our ideal candidate:
- Degree in Computer Science/Engineering / Information Systems or equivalent.
- 8+ years of hands-on experience with software application design, development, and support.
- 5+ years of experience leading local/remote/vendor teams in agile application development.
- Proven track record of driving successful project delivery and achieving business objectives.
- Demonstrated experience with software design and deployment, able to propose and evaluate application models and secure coding considerations.
- Experience with various data stores, including relational, document, no-SQL, Redis.
- In-depth knowledge of development best practices, including source control, code-review, pair-programming, CI/CD toolchain, and automated testing frameworks.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong leadership and mentoring abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
