Summary
The Accountant shall be accountable for the accounting operations of the organisation. This includes:
- the production of periodic internal financial reports;
- maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records;
- maintenance of a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of the organization's reported financial results and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles (or IFRS).
Support the delivery of the Southeast Asia business strategy and plan by proactively providing financial information, analysis and expertise to the Strategic Partnership, Member Engagement, EQS team and Head of Finance, Asia Pacific.
Work alongside the Southeast team to develop business objectives & strategies and monitor their subsequent delivery.
Key responsibilities
· Responsible for ensuring all ledger/account reconciliations are performed in a timely manner for all Southeast Asia reporting entities;
To include:
- ‘Accounting submission pack’ – Review input of monthly financial general ledger transactions including cash disbursements and receipts, credit card statements, PayPal statements, and other day to day financial activities;
- Account for any accruals and prepayments;
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and other account reconciliations as appropriate;
- Recording of monthly accruals, reversing entries and allocations;
- Reconciliation of inter-company activities;
- Preparation of annual year-end statements, annual audits, government reviews and any other year end activities.
· Responsibility for the delivery of monthly accounts for each entity in local currency to Group Finance for consolidation purposes on a timely basis to meet all Group deadlines;
· Provision of periodic/monthly/quarterly performance analysis to Group Finance and local management - including variance analysis & commentary on business position;
· Preparation of any local tax registrations and ongoing corporate, sales/GST & other tax filings with support from external advisors;
· Preparation of company statutory accounts where applicable, including liaison with RICS auditors;
· Preparation (in conjunction with RICS legal, corporate governance teams and external advisors) of necessary legal/statutory filings;
· Ensure maintenance of an appropriate legal and tax compliant structure in the Southeast Asia in conjunction with Group Finance and external advisors;
· Drive the Southeast Asia forecasting & budget planning process;
· Treasury, cash management and cash flow forecasting/reporting (including cash collection and management of payments to suppliers);
· Responsibility for any and all Southeast Asia license renewals such as registration certificates, taxation registration certificates, organization code certificate etc on annual basis.
· Define, document & implement local processes in line with Group overarching processes, looking for continual improvements and efficiencies;
· Ensuring compliance with all local legislation around invoicing;
· Monitor sales ledgers and action credit control as required;
· Operating a suitable accounting system until such time as D365 is implemented;
· Assist with the implementation and delivery of any financial or operating system;
· Account for Fixed Assets.

Technical skills / experience
· Qualified Accountant with demonstrable experience in financial and management reporting, internal control, financial analysis, budgeting and forecasting;

· Excellent skills on Microsoft Office;
· Excellent people management skills and experience;
· Excellent written and spoken English;
· Deadline focused and driven;
· An independent team player with an inquisitive mind who is able to work under minimal supervision;
· Working knowledge of SME cloud based accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks) would be advantages.
