Job Scope: Sustainability Specialist/Executive
Job Description:
As the Sustainability Lead, you will champion environmental, social, and governance (ESG) aspects within our company. Your role involves collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to ensure understanding and compliance in this critical area. You will contribute significantly to sustainability initiatives, shaping the company's longer-term sustainability roadmap, and play a pivotal role in establishing documentation and developing a standards framework. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
1. Develop and Implement Sustainability Strategies:
Design, implement, and monitor sustainability strategies aligned with the company's goals and industry best practices.
2. Conduct Environmental Impact Assessments:
Assess and analyse the environmental impact of company operations, products, and supply chains.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable practices and ensure alignment with corporate values.
4. Regulatory Compliance:
Stay abreast of relevant sustainability regulations and ensure the company's compliance with environmental standards.
5. Data Analysis and Reporting:
Collect, analyse, and report sustainability data, including key performance indicators (KPIs), to track progress and identify areas for improvement.
6. Employee Education and Training:
Develop and deliver sustainability training programs for employees, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility.
7. Supplier and Vendor Collaboration:
Work with suppliers and vendors to evaluate and improve the sustainability of the supply chain.
8. Energy and Resource Efficiency:
Identify opportunities to enhance energy efficiency, reduce resource consumption, and minimize waste generation.
9. Community Outreach:
Engage with local communities to support sustainable initiatives and contribute positively to social and economic well-being.
10. Innovation and Research:
Explore and recommend innovative sustainability solutions and technologies to enhance the company's environmental performance.
11. Other duties in Facility Management
He will also be supporting project management team by overseeing daily operations and technical issues. Responsibilities include contributing to the Company’s Quality Management System, conducting risk assessments, managing budgets, supervising maintenance and sub-contractors, planning projects, organizing performance meetings, scheduling maintenance, overseeing inspections, managing emergencies, handling customer feedback, and sourcing sub-contractors. This role requires a dual focus on ensuring premises efficiency and active involvement in strategic planning and coordination.
No previous experience is necessary, as the chosen candidates will undergo the Career Conversion Program (CCP).
Job Requirements:
1. Bachelor's/Diploma holder with a keen interest in ESG.
2. Proficient in data analysis tools for interpreting and presenting sustainability metrics effectively.
3. Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
4. Understanding of environmental regulations and certifications, ensuring compliance.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey sustainability goals and achievements.
6. Ability to manage and execute sustainability projects, from goal setting to implementation and evaluation.
7. Analytical mindset to identify challenges and propose practical solutions for sustainable practices.
8. Familiarity with community engagement strategies to build positive relationships and support local sustainability initiatives.
9. Demonstrated ability to think creatively and propose innovative sustainability solutions for continuous improvement.
10. Knowledge of green mark and/or carbon/energy audit is an added advantage.
11. Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
12. Excellent presentation, communication, and analytical skills.
