A well-established Company with more than 20 years in the global fastening industry is seeking goal goal-orientated Strategic Purchaser to join and become part of our dynamic and growing team. Already a market leader in several markets in this billion-dollar industry, it is imperative that the new candidate possesses the intelligence to quickly understand corporate objectives and plans to adapt and align his/her purchasing and sourcing strategy to the current business directions. His/ Her role is expected to compliment business growth and bolster the effectiveness of the team further to take the company to its next chapter with his/ her sourcing mastery.
An effective Strategic Purchaser must also possess in-depth knowledge of global freight to complete that strategic purchasing function across more than twenty countries. You will head our supply chain department and while you will be supported by shipping experts, we expect you to possess adequate shipping knowledge to lead the team. Candidates are also expected to be tactful expert negotiators and relationship builders. Strong negotiation skills and artful vendor relations management are mandatory strengths the candidates must possess to excel in this position. In-depth knowledge of our products and corporate needs will be key to achieving effective strategic purchasing and sourcing.
The candidate can expect a fast-paced, timeline-governed KPI-driven environment. You must expect to multitask across various internal departments to achieve your KPIs.
Job Scope:
1. Build strong and collaborative partnerships or relationship with suppliers and vendors to capitalize on their strengths, optimize value, reduce risks, and drive mutual success. This includes selecting and onboarding suppliers, negotiating contracts, managing performance, and fostering collaboration and innovation.
2. Work closely with key stakeholders to improve the effectiveness and efficiency across the entire supply chain, optimising quality, cost, and delivery. It includes continuously to assess risk and review sourcing strategies, and identify potential cost down, new programs and improvement opportunities or mitigate the risk across the entire sourcing or procurement process.
3. Create and review opportunities for alternative materials and/or suppliers to meet the business unit objectives in sourcing or procurement activities and to deliver the best values and business savings.
4. To support many aspects of business operations including but not limited to supplier and vendor RFQ, price & lead time negotiations, procurement functions, order processing, production tracking and management, processing of import and export documentation, sea and air freight booking and management, freight documentations, SKU management and housekeeping, review/refine/improve supply chain process.
5. To gather data to allow review of supplier performance against demand and take the lead on how to motivate suppliers to improve on performance.
6. To achieve agreed deliverables to customers while at the same time optimising all processes to deliver excellence to our customers, whilst ensuring budgeted costs/margins are met.
7. Ensuring gaps are addressed and appropriately addressed to meet business objectives such that internal SOPs are upgraded for the betterment of the Company.
8. Ensuring that our supply chain communication is aligned internally, to drive a focused, agreed, and consistent message to our customers, and at the same time working closely with our business development team to ensure ongoing understanding, alignment and balance between demand and supply plans, highlighting issues and prompting discussion and resolution.
9. Take the lead in influencing and developing our long-term supply chain transformation across a variety of capacities but not limited to supply chain & sourcing strategies, supply planning, material planning, supplier relationships forecasting and logistics.
Requirements:
1. Min. Diploma in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics or related.
2. Min. 3 years experience in Sourcing, Procurement & Planning, Order Management, Sub-con Management, Production Management, Freight, or similar.
3. Proficiency in written and spoken English and Mandarin is a must. The ability to communicate effectively with Asian suppliers is mandatory.
4. Enjoys the challenge of operating independently in an aggressively fast-paced working environment while multitasking effectively at the same time.
5. Proficient in MS Office software such as Word, Excel, Access and Powerpoint. Proficiency in SAP B1 and Odoo will be an added advantage.
