Your Responsibility
Reporting to the Back of House Operations Manager, the maintenance supervisor will be responsible for general repairs in the property such as carpentry, electrical services, lightning, painting, plumbing and other operational tasks. He will work closely with the Back of House Manager to find strong vendor relationships and have a good outsource pool of technicians that can work hand in hand with him to repair and maintain the property at all times. He will liaise with contractors in servicing schedules and ensure that the agreed scope is achieved.
Among the maintenance responsibilities, this person will conduct general upkeep procedures and inspection of rooms for defects and proactively repair issues to avoid guest complaints and out of order rooms. He will continuously walk-through the property to ensure the furniture and fixtures are in good condition and work closely with housekeeping when required to prioritize the repairs to the rooms that are expecting arrival on the day. This person is capable of working under pressure and doing room repairs during small gaps of time from room vacancy between a guest checking out and a new one checking-in.
The maintenance supervisor is a hands-on and flexible person that can anticipate major technical incidents and provide leadership and training to other technicians both in-house or outsourced so that there is a strong understanding of the property equipment that requires maintenance.
He will follow the direction of the Back of House Manager and continuously provide initiatives to improve the overall property condition.
This person will most likely on-board prior to the property opening date. Therefore, he or she will be responsible for getting an adequate handover from the contractors/ construction team in order to understand all the property equipment and materials used. This person is to become an expert with the property to identify the tools and equipment needed for the job scope and be able to anticipate any guest opportunities.
Skills Required
● A minimum of 2 years in relevant working experience
● Must be a hands-on person that is resourceful, proactive and a team player
● Must have good communication skills internally within the team, the vendors and externally when meeting guests
● Must be curious, eager to learn and flexible across the job scope
● Is organized, structured and ensures the maintenance tasks are prioritized to minimize out of order rooms and support in maximizing the sales inventory.
