Company Overview:

We are currently working with an International Bulk Commodities Trading company and they are seeking a meticulous and experienced Trade Finance Specialist to join the team.


Position Overview:

As a Trade Finance Specialist, you will be instrumental in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of Letter of Credit (LC) documentation within the framework of global trade regulations and company policies. Your role will involve collaborating with diverse stakeholders, including banks, traders, and logistics teams, to facilitate seamless transactions in the dry bulk commodities sector.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly review and process LC documentation, adhering to global trade regulations, company guidelines, and industry best practices.
  • Foster close collaboration with stakeholders such as banks, traders, and logistics teams to facilitate smooth and efficient LC transactions.
  • Stay abreast of evolving international trade regulations, banking standards, and industry-specific practices to ensure continuous compliance.
  • Identify and address risks associated with LC transactions, actively contributing to the overall risk management strategy.
  • Engage proactively with banks and financial institutions to resolve discrepancies, ensuring prompt and accurate LC settlements.
  • Coordinate effectively with internal teams, including trading, finance, and legal, to enhance communication and streamline processes.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency gains within the LC function, taking a proactive approach.
  • Implement industry best practices to optimize and elevate the overall effectiveness of LC operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Demonstrated experience in trade documentation, particularly in the dry bulk commodities sector.
  • Proficient understanding of global trade regulations and LC procedures, UCP600 trained.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Ability to assess and mitigate risks associated with LC transactions.
  • Previous experience in resolving discrepancies and ensuring timely settlements.
