We seek an exceptional Operations Manager to oversee all aspects of our freight forwarding, transportation, warehousing, and distribution operations in Singapore. This high-impact role is ideal for a strategic leader who maximises productivity, efficiency, and profitability.
- Oversee all air and sea shipments, documentation and customs clearance
- Manage relationships with vendors, freight forwarders, and service providers
- Coordinate with overseas agents, internal teams, and vendors to ensure the best rates, meeting client instructions and efficient cargo handling
- Prepare pre-alerts, air waybills, certificates of origin, and advance manifests
- Secure competitive rates and capacity from airlines, if needed
- Guide and develop team members and vendors for operational excellence
- Resolve service issues promptly to ensure excellent customer service
- Oversee warehouse operations and inventory management
- Control costs through data-driven improvements and solutions
- Collaborate with sales and service to deliver quality solutions
- Ensure regulatory, legal, and safety compliance
- Lead a high-performance team focused on quality and efficiency
- Identify and drive continuous improvements and innovations
Requirements
- 5+ years overseeing freight operations and freight vendor management
- Authorised TradeNet user with Customs declaration experience
- Strong communication, presentation, and vendor management abilities
- Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Able to work independently, show initiative, and develop and implement process improvements and procedures.
- Excellent organisational skills and budget/resource optimisation abilities
- Proven leadership, analytical, problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills
- Successful track record managing teams and air freight logistics
- Skilled at developing teams, procedures, and achieving operational excellence
- Passion for innovation, customer service, and exceeding objectives
- Driven to meet deadlines and optimise costs
