Job Description
The mission of the Centre is to improve population health and well-being by accelerating the use of behavioural and implementation science in health policy and practice.
We are looking for an individual who is passionate about improving health and well-being for everyone, through approaches that bridge research, community and government.
Responsibilities include:
- Work hand-in-hand with Directors, Principal Investigators and Visiting Professors, to develop strategy that meets overall research, translation, implementation and education objectives of the Centre.
- Establish an independent research agenda through collaborations with health institutions, government agencies and private sector through internal or extramural funding
- Represent a core part of the leadership team for programs on public policy and research implementation and for outreach to professional bodies
- Oversee implementation of education activities of the Centre for Behavioural and Implementation Science Interventions (BISI) under NUSMed.
- Oversee research and education staff supervision and mentorship
Qualifications
- An advanced degree in behavioral science, Biomedical science, psychology and other related disciplines
- At least 8 years working experience, with 3 – 5 years of this time previously committed to work in the science or health sector interface with policy, implementation, public administration and government.
- Prior demonstrated leadership and managerial expertise is essential, as this role requires the candidate to build team capacity and expertise in a growing field
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to manage multiple, diverse stakeholders, and communicate effectively
- An analytical mind with experience in program design and management (e.g. assessing evidence, proposals) in the public sector, and the ability to package and communicate information effectively
