We are looking for a dedicated and self-assured individual to become a valuable part of our dynamic team as a Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strong leadership, direction, and management to the team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  • Assess and manage financial and operational risks, implementing internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, reports, and analyses, providing insights into the company's financial health and supporting informed decision-making.
  • Take responsibility for finance management, cash flow planning, and payment allocation to maintain the organisation's financial stability.
  • Lead the preparation of the company's budget by collaborating with department heads. Monitor and control actual variances to the budget.
  • Ensure compliance with accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial laws, preparing tax filings and effectively liaising with auditors and regulatory authorities.
  • Monitor cash flow, optimise working capital, and execute strategies to enhance cash flow generation, improving liquidity and financial stability.
  • Offer strategic recommendations to the management team based on a deep understanding of financial data and insights.
  • Work closely with the management to draft and review standard operating procedures that enhance efficiency and effectiveness in line with the company's objectives.
  • Oversee credit and collection initiatives to ensure credit policies are enforced throughout the organisation and timely collections are made.
  • Facilitate inter-departmental communication and provide constructive ideas, recommendations, and solutions to managers whose roles impact operations.
  • Undertake other ad-hoc tasks as assigned by the management team.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of post-qualification experience in the financial field, at least 5 years at a managerial level.
  • In-depth knowledge of the most updated accounting standards.
  • Experience in management and financial reporting in the retail-related industry is a definite advantage.
  • Degree holder in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
  • A person with a positive mindset and can-do attitude, demonstrating collaborative skills and the ability to work well within a team.
  • Good sense of prioritising, problem-solving, budgeting knowledge, and planning skills
  • Possess effective interpersonal and communication skills, encompassing verbal and written capabilities.
