Job Objective:
Responsible for designing profitable winning solutions which are detailed and easy to implement, meet the customer’s functional and business requirements, and adhere to SAV’s standards and best practices
Core Responsibilities:
Design to Win
· Select equipment that meets the customer’s requirements with similar or higher quality and lower costs as compared to competitors
· Design winning system(s) which meet(s) the customer’s business requirements
· Advise salesmen on the method to structure the product description, technical specification, operational requirement in the proposal or bid document
· Review design(s) after award of contract to further improve profitability and maintain the desired quality
· Keep abreast of the latest technology and trends in the audio visual industry
Design in Detail
· Provide advice to the Project Lead on ergonomic placement of equipment
· Draft designs accurately and in detail, including clear and correct labelling of equipment, wiring and diagrams
· Ensure that all cables, Patch Panel and Receptacle naming and labelling is correctly defined in schematics
· Ensure that all equipment is documented in schematic drawing and Bill of Material (BOM) in order management
Design to Work
· Collaborate with the Sales and Marketing Department to review the design (including Graphical User Interface, GUI) and ensure that it is promptly updated to meet any latest changes in operational requirements
· Advise Project Managers on the correct location of equipment and integration with other parties
· Assist the Project Lead to identify potential installation and operational issues (due to site constraints) which may delay project commissioning.
· Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure the proper project documentation and communication of functional requirements to Project Delivery Teams during internal project handovers, or as and when there are changes.
· Approve schematics drawings for procurement and construction
· Conduct site inspections during onsite and offsite implementation
· Inspect schematic drawings to ensure that the design can be implemented effectively
· Inspect systems to ensure that user functional requirements are addressed
· Inspect equipment (for each vertical solution) to ensure proper configuration to optimise performance
· Identify variations in operational requirements and quality of delivery and provide a punch list for the Project Lead to follow up.
Education Qualification:
· ITE/ Diploma in IT/Engineering/Audio Visual
Experience:
· At least 5 years’ experience in an Engineering role in the audio-visual industry
· Must be proficient in AV control system programming (Crestron/ AMX) or Prosound
· Proficient in both written and verbal English
· Detail oriented and meticulous
· Excellent understanding of commercial Audio-Visual solutions
