- Proton and photon treatment system acceptance testing, commissioning, calibration and related work in compliance with national clinical and safety standards
- Development, implementation of the Proton Beam Physics programme for proton and photon therapy machines and clinical workflow in accordance with national safety standards and guidelines
- Responsible for the production of proton beam, and the methods of creating a clinically useful dose distribution;
- Performance of quality assurance for proton and photon therapy treatment, including machine QA, patient specific QA, device QA.
- Commissioning and safety checks for new quality assurance tools and devices.
- Implementation and documentation of regular device QA.
- Training and supervision of radiation therapists with respect to safety procedures and machine operation.
- Responsible in areas of diagnosis and ensure a safe accurate treatment for patients.
- Ensure the overall radiation safety of the treatment centre for staff and patients
- Ensure proper facility shielding and regular monitoring of radioactivation of all Proton related treatment accessories and other machine components
- Ensure compliance with all local laws and national guidelines on radiation protection process and procedures specific to the clinical environment
- Manage the potential impact of secondary radiation on patients.
- Develop, design and generate an optimal treatment plan under the direction of the Radiation Oncologist
- Facilitating optimal treatment delivery, including plan discussions, technical support and troubleshooting of treatment plan.
- Generation of approved treatment plan reports and performing plan checks to ensure safe transfer of treatment parameters to the treatment unit via the Proton Beam System (ARIA);
- Contouring of discernible organs at risk and any relevant structures that may have dosimetry impact in the proton beam and dose distribution
- Ensuring proper handling and orientation of volumetric patient image data on ARIA from computed tomography (CT) and other image data sets, including image registration;
- Clinical presence onsite with the patient at the first treatment and assist with verification via regular re-CT for adaptive planning for subsequent treatments as necessary.

Education and Competencies required:
· Minimum a master degree in physics or equivalent qualification
· Strong verbal and interpersonal communication skills
