Responsibilities:
- Manage the technical aspects of a fleet of vessels, ensuring compliance with planned maintenance systems (PMS) for hull and machinery.
- Conduct routine inspections to verify PMS adherence and ensure vessels are maintained in optimal condition.
- Provide guidance to ship staff on maintenance and running repairs, monitoring their performance closely.
- Respond promptly to emergency repairs to minimize vessel downtime, coordinating with classification societies as needed.
- Oversee new building projects at shipyards, as required by the company.
- Attend class surveys, Port State Control (PSC) inspections, and dry-docking surveys.
- Prepare annual budgets for routine maintenance, dry-docking, repairs, and procurement of stores and spares.
- Monitor procurement processes for efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Analyze daily ship performance data, troubleshooting technical and maintenance issues as they arise.
- Control costs by monitoring expenditure and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Evaluate ship staff performance and provide reports to the office.
- Identify areas for operational improvements and modifications, making recommendations accordingly.
- Plan and implement compliance with relevant regulations, technology advancements, and environmental measures.
- Support Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment (QHSE) initiatives and operations with technical expertise.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 3 years’ sea service as Chief Engineer.
- Preferably 3-4 years’ experience as a Superintendent.
- Proficiency in Planned Maintenance Systems.
- Knowledge of Class, FSC, PSC, ISM, ISPS, and other statutory requirements.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot marine technical issues effectively.
- Strong teamwork skills, with the ability to work independently when necessary.
- Proactive attitude with excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
