The Singapore Shooting Association invites anyone who is highly motivated, people-oriented and enthusiastic in providing professional support for our national athletes in a high performance environment to consider applying for the position of a full-time Sports Trainer with us. The successful person is expected to:
- Work with our High Performance Team, in consultation with the respective SSA coaches, in the planning, development, implementation and supervision of the strength programs to enhance the physical condition of our national athletes to enable them to shoot better and perform their best during competitions
- Implement and supervise the fitness training regimes of our national athletes as set-out by the Singapore Sports Institute / Sport Singapore
- Travel as required to support the national athletes during overseas competitions and/or training camps
- Work with our High Performance Team, in consultation with the injured athlete’s coach and medical/healthcare professional, in the planning, development, implementation and supervision of the rehabilitation program of the athlete so that he or she could return to his or her optimal physical state in the shortest possible time
- Provide massage services and recovery regimes locally and overseas for our national athletes and coaches
- Plan and manage all related schedules, inventory and budgets
- Keep detailed records of athlete injuries and treatment
- Organize at least one injury prevention workshop every six months to educate the national athletes and coaches
QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS
- Must possess a sports related diploma or degree
- Must possess CPR, First Aid, Sports Massage and Fitness Instructor certifications
- Must have prior experience working with athletes
- Must have good inter-personal and communication (written and spoken) skills
- Must have basic organizational and administrative skills
