RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Gather and manage modeling requirements from the Product Development team and Systems Architecture team.
- Create 3D models and drawings of products, systems, and overall building layout in Solidworks.
- Evaluate MCAD-based product designs for completeness, integrity, and interface definition.
- Interrogate model-based designs for progress and compliance with quality and use-case objectives.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (Vendors, A/E, TPMs, TLs) to support conversion of MCAD models.
- Deliver and maintain design documentation such as Drawings, Bill of Material, and manuals with revision control.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders (TPMs, TLs) to assess and document vendor design deliverables, integrity, quality, and status. Track model creation, coordination, and quality against deliverable dates and highlight schedule risks for TPM to escalate.
- As needed, support the development of configurable interface models based on MCAD product designs that ensure design integrity, with traceability to predecessor files in other software.
- Facilitate the distribution and use of product catalogs in 3D MCAD formats.
- Host design integration meetings, workshops, and model walkthroughs.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree or relevant experience in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum of 5 years of Engineering or Construction Industry
- Solid understanding of fundamental physical and mechanical principles, manufacturing processes, development, prototyping, and testing.
