McConnell Dowell is looking to hire a short-term WSH Coordinator (2-3 months contract) for one of our major civil infrastructure projects in Singapore.
About the Role
- Provide advice and assistance to the Workplace Safety and Health Manager for the development, implementation, review and revision of health and safety sections of the Project Execution Plan.
- Participate in project risk assessments and recommend measures to eliminate or minimize any foreseeable risk to any person.
- Investigate and report on all work-related injuries/illnesses and near misses.
- Report, investigate and implement corrective and/or preventive actions resulting from identification of hazards, near-miss incidents and work related illness/injury.
- Report on health and safety matters to the Project Manager and/or Workplace Safety and Health Officer including preparation of incident and loss statistics and monthly summary reports.
- Work to achieve the project safety and health targets.
- Ensure regular site safety inspections of site activities and plant & equipment are carried out.
- Ensure all Singapore statutory requirements for Health and Safety are complied with by the project team.
- Assist in conducting Site Safety Induction for new employees; and ensure they are trained in their roles and responsibilities and are competent to perform the duties allocated to them.
- Organise, plan and conduct weekly toolbox meetings, and ensure pre-start meetings and other safety group meetings are carried out.
- Prepare, compile, review and maintain all necessary site safety records.
- Plan and carry out safety and health inspection of subcontractors.
- Management of medical and emergency response facilities.
- Maintain site personal particulars of employees and advise workforce of required protective equipment.
- Responsibility for dangerous situation security and arranging for local emergency rescue.
- Assist with rehabilitation and return to work processes for injured employees.
- Any other duties as may be required by the Company.
About You
- Ministry of Manpower’s approved qualification course for the Workplace Safety and Health Co-ordinator, i.e. Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health or equivalent.
- Minimum of 3-4 years experience in the application of safety management principles in the construction-related industry.
- Working knowledge of safety & health risk management process.
- Valid Occupational First Aid Certificate.
- Experience in investigating and reporting safety and health incidents.
- Available within a short notice period and can work for 2-3 months on a short-term contract.
- Alternate 6-day work week.
- Transport pickup is provided at Bukit Batok.
