Industry Development Manager

SCAL is looking for a motivated individual to be part of the Industry Development team involves in representing the needs and interests, as well as overseeing the growth and development of the industry. The executive/manager plays a key role in collaborating with members, industry stakeholders and government agencies to drive industry development and transformation. He builds effective relationships with strategic partners and stakeholders to identify growth opportunities for the industry, including implementing strategies to promote and foster greater awareness and advocacy of related subject matters and initiatives for the industry.


The Industry Development Executive/Manager is an effective communicator and presenter. He needs to be analytical and professional in addressing the concerns of the industry. One that is forward-looking, able to set out a clear strategic direction and inspire the team towards achieving desired outcomes and goals.


Job Description:

· Identify issues impacting the industry and close gaps in policies based on trends and changes

· Engage member companies to identify business needs and gather feedback on industry views and concerns.

· Manage the development of advocacy with government agencies, partners and SCAL members.

· Developing and implementing strategies to promote the industry, including engagement and surveys, research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities for growth and development within the industry.

· Manage strategic industry-level projects, events and initiatives to represent industry needs and interests, monitor all project deliverables, results and indicators.

· Assist and provide inputs on public communications related to relevant subcommittees.

· Possess knowledge of current industry practices to review and provide recommendations on practices for the construction industry.

· Prepare reports, monitor, and follow up on industry engagements.

Any other duties as may be assigned by the Executive Director or by whomever the Executive Director so designates


Job Requirements:

· Degree in any discipline

· At least 3-5 years of working experience

· Strong project management skills

· Good interpersonal and communication skills, effective communicator

· Good comment of written and spoken English

· Organised, self-driven, resourceful, fast learner

· Critical thinker with good analytical and problem-solving skills

· Passionate in advocacy, open-minded and resilient
