Enrolled Nurse perform all nursing treatment / procedures under supervision of Staff nurse / Nursing Officer. Assist Doctor, Dietician, Speech Therapist, Staff Nurse during examination of residents. Assist residents with their individualised care programme.
Key Tasks
Clinical Care
- Perform all nursing treatment / procedures including the administration of medications, dressing and nasogastric feeding under the supervision of a staff nurse.
- Assist Doctor, Podiatrist, Speech Therapist, Dietician and Staff Nurse during treatment and examination of residents.
- Conduct rounds to ensure that the residents are well and safe; and be alert of those on high risk.
- Assist residents with their individualised care programme, perform procedures such as oral hygiene, tube feeding, eye care, prosthetic aide, hearing aids etc.
- Facilitate residents in group exercise.
- Assist residents in toileting, meals, change diapers / clothes.
- Assist residents with mobility problems such as transfer and lifting techniques to / from bed to wheelchair.
- Report any abnormalities detected to the Staff Nurse in charge / Nursing Officer e.g. skin condition or infection / bed sores, rising temperatures.
Quality
- Infection control.
- Quality improvement programmes.

Training & Development
- Orientate new staff on the Job Training (OJT).
- Assist Staff Nurse in clinical guidance of HCA and NA, and to participate actively in in-service training program.
Administration
- Assist in maintaining residents’ files / records. To assist in report writing and verbal reports on residents’ condition and on nursing management of residents.
- Assist the Staff Nurse / Nursing Officer in inventory checks and control.
Job Specification
- Experienced Nursing Aide for at Least 3 years
- Pass SNB exam for Enrolled Nurse
- Diploma / Degree in Nursing
