System Engineer (Virtualization)
Responsibilities:
- Manage and optimize virtualized environments using VMware, ensuring efficient resource allocation, scalability, and performance across both Windows and RHEL server platforms.
- Implement robust backup and recovery solutions using Veeam, including regular testing of backup processes to ensure data integrity and availability.
- Utilize SCOM (System Center Operations Manager) to monitor the health and performance of digital systems, proactively identifying and resolving issues.
- Deploy and maintain systems using Satellite, ensuring consistency, compliance, and efficient configuration management across the infrastructure.
- Demonstrate proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash to automate routine tasks, streamline processes, and enhance system efficiency.
- Lead the diagnosis and resolution of critical system incidents, conduct root cause analysis, and implement preventive measures.
- Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to implement and maintain security measures, ensuring digital systems comply with industry standards and regulations.
- Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, providing technical expertise in the design, implementation, and maintenance of digital projects.
- Maintain comprehensive system documentation, facilitate knowledge sharing within the team, and ensure efficient onboarding of new team members.
- Participate in budget planning and management, ensuring cost-effective solutions and efficient allocation of resources for system design, implementation, and maintenance.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of working experience with 3 years of hands-on experience in System Engineering.
- Working knowledge of Virtualization and Data Backup & Recovery technologies like VMware and Veeam.
- Working knowledge of deployment and monitoring technologies such as SCCM, Satellite, SCOM, or similar tools.
- Experience in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or Bash.
- Budget Planning and Management skills.
- Cybersecurity Implementation experience.
- Exposure to AWS cloud is desirable.
