Under the directions of the MHI-APAC Business Development Senior Vice President and Strategic Communications Group Manager, the APAC Communications Associate will support the Corporate Communications functions, focusing firstly on internal communications and gradually expanding the scope to support management and execution of events to raise awareness of MHI-APAC and MHI Group across the APAC region. The APAC Communications Associate should be a self-motivated individual who is willing to learn the business and culture of MHI Group, takes initiative in initiating internal communication projects and to develop a deep understanding of the business step by step. The Associate will also need to maintain effective stakeholder relations and support branding efforts by cooperating closely with colleagues throughout the APAC region, MHI Group Corporate communicators in the US and EMEA, and MHI HQ Global Communications Group in Tokyo.


Strategic Communications


· Maintain active repository of contact list for local, APAC media and key partner organisations

· Assists with reviewing and preparing corporate presentations and branding materials such as videos, press releases, Briefing Documents and advertisements for Regional Offices and Group Companies

· Copywriting and updating of marketing materials such as MHIAP Corporate Brochure, Country Inserts and MHIAP Webpage

· Co-develop internal communications materials including staff newsletters and quarterly updates to promote organizational initiatives, values and key messages among staff in MHIAP and Group Companies.

· Manage MHI-AP enquiry system, including emails channeled from main MHI-AP email, and liaise with both internal partners and enquirers by handling and responding to queries in a timely manner.

Branding and Marketing Communications

· Assists with brand related queries from AP Office, Business Unit, Regional Offices and Group Companies to maintain organization’s brand image

· Seek branding approval from internal stakeholders for printed collaterals (Banners, Posters) for corporate use, exhibitions or branding purposes.

· Assists to manage inventory and stock control of all corporate items (Gifts, Calendars, Company brochures, MHI Paper Bags, and all stationeries bearing MHI/ MHIAP Logo) to ensure compliance with branding guidelines.


Strategic Relations


· Regular scanning and reporting of relevant economic and geopolitical information which may impact MHI and MHIAP Group business.

· Keep abreast of media and energy landscape and narratives internationally and locally to maximize media pitches and opportunities.

Digital Communications

· Assists with conceptualizing and executing digital marketing and publicity plans, including social media campaigns for APAC Business Units

Administrative

· Assists and works with Corporate Admin Group on required logistics support for smooth daily operation of department

· Main contact person for updating internal contact lists and annual surveys


Requirements

· Diploma/ Degree in Communications/ Marketing/ Linguistics or its equivalent with minimum 2 years of Communications and Sustainability promotion experience.

· Strong command of English Language and good communication and editing skills.

· Team player with enthusiasm for collaboration with all levels of employees and external partners and remains meticulous in work execution.

· Strong ability to be organized, work independently and efficiently.

· General knowledge in Sustainability, social media expertise with experience in media relations, design, video editing and digital communications skills are an asset.
