As an IT Executive, you will be responsible for providing technical support, managing IT infrastructure, and ensuring the smooth operation of computer systems, including Point of Sale (POS) systems, within the organization. This entry-level position is ideal for candidates with a strong interest in information technology and a willingness to learn and grow within the field.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Support:
- Provide first-level technical support for end-users, including assistance with POS system-related issues, on a 24/7 standby basis.
- Collaborate with POS system vendors for issue resolution and updates, ensuring timely responses to critical incidents.
- Troubleshot and resolve hardware and software problems related to POS terminals during non-business hours.
IT Infrastructure Management
- Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of POS systems and related hardware, ensuring their availability around the clock.
- Monitor and manage the performance of POS systems, including proactive measures to address potential issues during standby periods.
- Implement and follow IT security protocols for the protection of POS data and systems, with heightened vigilance during critical events.
Software and Application Management:
- Install, update, and configure POS software applications on terminals during non-business hours.
- Provide training to end-users on the effective use of POS systems, both during regular business hours and special events such as club nights.
- Collaborate with software vendors for rapid issue resolution and updates related to the POS system, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of POS system configurations, inventory, and support activities during 24/7 standby periods.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports on POS system performance, issues, and resolutions.
Document solutions to common POS-related issues for future reference, with a focus on efficiency and speed during critical events.
User Training:
- Conduct training sessions to enhance end-users' understanding of POS systems during regular business hours and provide on-the-spot guidance during special events like club nights.
- Create user-friendly guides and documentation to assist employees in resolving common POS system issues independently.
